On the morning of April 5, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will arrive in Dushanbe on a state visit, Asia-Plus was told in the press service of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
It was noted that within the framework of the visit he would meet with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. The parties will discuss the prospects for bilateral cooperation in various fields.
The meeting will be held in a bilateral format, after which representatives of the delegations of the two countries will join the presidents.
As a result, it is planned to sign a number of documents on cooperation.
At the end of the talks, the presidents will make a statement to the media.
In the evening of the same day, Aliyev will fly home.
Today, on the eve of the visit of the President of Azerbaijan, the Tajik-Azerbaijani investment forum opens in Dushanbe.
The forum is expected to be attended by about 150 participants from both sides, including heads and officials of ministries and departments, entrepreneurs, investors and representatives of companies and enterprises in various sectors of the economy of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.
The forum will present investment opportunities in tourism, industry, energy, services and other areas.
Signing of new documents on cooperation between the public and private sectors of the two countries is expected.
According to the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Tajik-Azerbaijani trade turnover in 2022 amounted to $6.2 million, which is 0.1% of the total foreign trade turnover of Tajikistan.
About 95% of bilateral trade is accounted for by the import of Azerbaijani goods by Tajikistan.
