The Lehigh men’s lacrosse team will close out the non-conference schedule and face its second straight ranked opponent when the Mountain Hawks face No. 16/17 Georgetown on Saturday at 12 p.m. in Washington, D.C.
Lehigh comes into Saturday’s game with a 5-2 overall record. The Mountain Hawks two losses this season both came against ranked opponents, including a 12–10 loss to then-No.13/15 Army last Saturday.
Georgetown is 3-3. The Hoyas lost the first three games of the season but have rallied back to capture three straight wins.
Lehigh’s only non-conference loss this season came in a 12-5 loss to then No.3/4 Cornell on Feb. 25. If the Mountain Hawks can beat the Hoyas, this would be their first ranked win since defeating No. 9 Army on March 19, 2022.
Two-time All-America faceoff specialist Mike Sisselberger has a chance to break another school record on Saturday. He needs just one more ground ball to break the school record for the most career ground balls in school history. Sisselberger was 13-of-22 at the stripe on Saturday versus the Black Knights. He also picked up eight ground balls and tallied his 401st career ground ball, which tied Conor Gaffney’s record for most career ground balls.
Scott Cole led the way for Lehigh last game, finishing with five points (3G, 2A). Cole is seventh in the nation in points per game (5.14).
Christian Mule’ has dished out 18 assists in seven games. He is sixth in the nation in assists per game (2.57). The senior is also four goals away from 100 for his careerl.
Lehigh is 2-4 all-time against Georgetown. The last time the Mountain Hawks faced off against the Hoyas was last season at home. Georgetown won 14-11. Lehigh most recently defeated Georgetown in 2014.
Tucker Dordevic and Brian Minicus both have put up 21 points in six games played for the Hoyas.
Following Saturday’s game, Lehigh will host Lafayette on April 1 at 1 p.m. in The Rivalry, presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute.
